Located in the central part of St. Louis County and on the western edge of the city of St. Louis, is a densely populated established group of neighborhoods known as Mid County. Some of the more elegant homes from the early 1900's are featured on these beautiful tree-lined streets. Two major universities, Washington University and Webster University are situated in this area. Ladue: Ladue is known as one of
the wealthiest suburbs in the United States, with breathtaking homes built on
large wooded lots, and within country club grounds. This well-maintained,
high-profile community is one of the most desirable in St. Louis.
Webster Groves: Webster Groves provides a vast
variety of housing and commerce and is home to Webster University. It is
considered a quiet, picturesque community with charming tree-lined streets and
well-kept residences, some historic turn-of-the-century. Through its Dept. of
Environmental Services and enforcement of housing standards, the city ensures
the maintenance of its well-established property values.
Creve Coeur. Creve Coeur, French for "broken
heart," is located about 15 minutes from Lambert Airport and has managed to
become a suburban model through blending quiet, tree-lined residential streets
with an large business community. Housing ranges from small lot ranches to
luxury-priced homes on wooded acre sized lots.
Clayton. Located just west of Forest Park and about
15 minutes from the airport, Clayton has some of the area's finest and most
elegant homes blended with numerous mid-rise luxury condos. Homes are typically
40 to over 100 yrs old with a nice blend of new construction. With the nearly 6
million sq. ft. of office space, the home of many Fortune 500 businesses, and
the County governmental seat, Clayton is the focal point of St. Louis County
business.
