Ferguson: Ferguson offers turn-of-the-century two-stories, condos, ranches and a few
mansions. Approximately 300 homes are included in a "historic
inventory". It is approximately 10 minutes from the airport and boasts
Florissant Valley Community College within its boundaries and University of
Missouri-St. Louis just outside.
Florissant: St. Louis County's largest city with over 55,000 residents is about 10 minutes
from Lambert Airport. Florissant, derived from the French word for flowers, is
the oldest city in St. Louis County. Old Town Florissant boasts many 19th
century historic homes but Florissant also boasts many contemporary
subdivisions. Visit the May Valley of the Flowers festival.
Hazelwood: Hazelwood is the home of many large corporations including McDonnell Douglas and
a major Ford production plant, and is just 5 minutes from Lambert Airport. It is
a comparatively new community having been built up mostly between 1960 and 1980.
Maryland Heights: This city was named for the state
of Maryland by its settlers from the state of Maryland as well as the
neighboring state of Virginia. This is one of the largest cities in St. Louis
County and is just 10 minutes from Lambert Airport.
